Headies Awards 2018: Bovi and Seyi Shay To Host 12th Edition

Bovi Ugboma, actor and comedian, will host the 2018 Headies alongside Seyi Shay, an R&B singer.

The hosts of the 12th edition of the Headies were on Wednesday unveiled by Smooth Productions, organisers of the awards.

It is the second time Bovi will be hosting the awards while it’s Seyi Shay’s first attempt.

In 2015, the comedian anchored the event alongside Kafayat ‘Kaffy’ Shafau-Ameh, a dancer and choreographer.

A year prior, Bovi and Toke Makinwa were announced as hosts of the awards but Basketmouth was named a last-minute replacement for the comedian.




Seyi Shay, meanwhile, has recorded her version of the theme song of the 2018 Headies.

The artistes with the lion’s share of Headies nominations are Simi, Wizkid, and Davido.

Maleek Berry, Mayorkun and Johnny Drille were nominated for the coveted next rated category of the Headies. Also nominated are Chocolate City’s Dice Ailes and Zoro.

The Headies will take place on May 5 at the EKO Hotels, Lagos.

Health Workers Threaten To Begin Nationwide Strike On Tuesday

The President of the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU), Mr Josiah Biobelemoye, said on Monday that the the union would commence an indefinite nationwide strike by midnight on Tuesday. Biobelemoye said this when he led the union executive on a courtesy visit to the Chief Medical Director of the National Hospital, Abuja, Dr. Jafaru Momoh, in his office. He alleged that the union members had been treated as slaves by the Minster of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole. He said that the minister failed to implement the agreement reached by the union with the Federal Government on Sept. 30, 2017 for upward adjustment of CONHESS.
