Wenger was sacked by Arsenal, speaks on Luis Enrique replacing him

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has given the biggest hint so far on his exit from the club.

Wenger released a statement last Friday, announcing he was stepping down after this season.

But during his press conference today ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash against Atletico Madrid, the Frenchman said the decision was not his.

“The timing was not really my decision and for the res,t I’ve spoken about it already,” he said.

Wenger was also asked about former Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique, who has been tipped to replace him at the Emirates.

“I have a high opinion of him but I do not want to influence the job for the next manager. Of course I have a high opinion of Luis Enrique,” he added.
